About KOPILI

Our Sourcing & Production Process

From Managed Plantations to Pure Essential Oils

At KOPILI, we believe that world-class essential oils are born in the soil and perfected through precise handling. For international buyers in the fragrance, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries, supply chain transparency is a strict regulatory requirement.

By managing a comprehensive 10-step extraction framework, we guarantee a completely traceable and unadulterated supply chain. We control everything from the initial planting to the final global export.

Phase 1: Agricultural Foundation

Great essential oils require superior raw materials. We do not simply buy leaves on the open market. We actively partner with farmers to monitor the agronomy.

  1. Cultivation: We select optimal soil locations and superior botanical genetics to ensure high baseline active compounds.
  2. Crop Management: Our field teams implement sustainable agricultural practices, avoiding harmful synthetic pesticides.
  3. Flourishing Plantation: Constant monitoring ensures the plants reach peak maturity, resulting in a stable, flourishing yield year after year.

Phase 2: Biomass Preparation

Between the field and the distillation equipment lies the most critical phase for oil quality. Raw patchouli cannot be distilled immediately.

  1. Harvesting: Botanicals are carefully cut at precise maturity levels to maximize their native chemical yield.
  2. Process Dehydration (Wilting): The fresh biomass undergoes an initial drying phase to remove excess surface moisture safely.
  3. Process Dehydration (Curing): We conduct a secondary, deeply controlled dehydration and curing phase. This mild fermentation process naturally ruptures the plant cell walls. Scientific literature dictates that this specific extended dehydration is absolutely required to release the maximum yield of Patchouli Alcohol (PA) and develop the signature earthy aroma.

Phase 3: Scientific Extraction

Once the biomass is perfectly cured, it is transferred to our processing facilities for technical extraction.

  1. Distillation Equipment: We utilize food-grade, high-capacity stainless steel extraction vessels designed to prevent metallic contamination and rust.
  2. Distillation Process: We deploy carefully calibrated steam distillation. By controlling temperature and steam pressure, we ensure that fragile volatile molecules are preserved rather than burned. Absolutely no chemical solvents are used.
  3. Distilled Extract: The resulting pure botanical essence is carefully separated from the floral water, yielding a highly concentrated, unadulterated oil.

Phase 4: Logistics & Delivery

Before any liquid leaves our facility, it must pass our commercial quality gates.

  1. Packaged & Ready To Sell: Every batch is tested for specific gravity, refractive index, and active compound percentages. Once verified against Indonesian SNI compliance standards, the oil is securely packaged into airtight industrial drums and prepared for international freight.
